NMBI maintains and publishes two registers as per the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011.
1. The
Register of Nurses and Midwives contains the names of nurses and midwives registered in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011.
The register updates in real-time and contains the registration status, registration expiry date, division(s) the nurse or midwife is registered under and if fitness to practise conditions are attached.
2. The
Candidate Register contains the names of undergraduate nursing and midwifery students in Ireland. Applicants who trained outside Ireland and are completing an adaptation assessment placement are also registered here.
Candidates must be on the Candidate Register for the duration of their training programme or adaptation and assessment placement.
The register updates in real-time and is searchable on our website. It was published in this manner for the first time in 2020.
For searching each register either a registration number and/or last name must be provided. A search by first name only is not permitted.
